Sheriff's report

On August 26, 2009, Deputy C. M. Polliard stopped a vehicle in Ruther Glen for suspicion of DUI.  After investigating, Nathaniel Lewis, 21, of Ruther Glen was charged with Driving under the influence. He was ordered held under a $1500 bond and a court date of September 2, 2009 was set.   

On August 27, 2009, Deputy C. M. Polliard stopped a vehicle in Woodford for a traffic infraction.  After investigating, Daniel Vick, 25, of Fredericksburg was charged with driving while suspended and obstruction of a law enforcement officer. He was ordered held under a $5000 bond and a court date of September 2, 2009 was set.   

On August 30, 2009, Deputy C. B. Pavie responded to a reported intoxicated person in Ruther Glen.  After investigating, Thomas Francis Cody, 25, of Ruther Glen was charged with assault, destruction of property, and two counts of obstruction of a law enforcement officer. He was ordered held under a $5000 bond and a court date of October 28, 2009 was set.   

On September 1, 2009, Deputy J. O. Cecil while on patrol in the Carmel Church area overheard a female involved in solicitation for money. After investigating, Lisa Hipp, 38, of Toledo Ohio was charged with Prostitution and Solicitation.  She was released on a personal recognizance bond and a court date of September 2, 2009 was set. 

On September 1, 2009, Deputies G. J. Hamilton and C. M. Polliard responded to a residence to serve a warrant in Ruther Glen. Nicole Monahan, 27, of Ruther Glen was arrested on a Capias from Spotsylvania. Upon further investigation she was charged with possession of marijuana. She was ordered held without bond and a court date of September 2, 2009 was set.  During the arrest Danielle Barker, 18, of Ruther Glen was charged with two counts of possession of controlled substance and obstruction by false statement. She was ordered held without bond and a court date of September 2, 2009 was set. Jason Tucker, 18, of Ruther Glen was charged with possession of marijuana and obstruction by false statement to the police. He was released on a personal recognizance bond and a court date of September 16, 2009 was set. 

On September 5, 2009, Deputy J. K. Miller, responded to a single vehicle crash in Bowling Green, After further investigation, Lionell McArthur Myers, 41, of Ruther Glen was charged with Driving under the influence. He was ordered held under a $1000 bond and a court date of September 9, 2009 was set.   

On September 6, 2009, Deputy Sergeant J. W. McCarty was patrolling when he made a traffic stop of a white four door vehicle that was driving reckless on Rt. 639 (Ladysmith Road). Sergeant McCarty attempted to speak with the person and he fled in his vehicle. The vehicle was stopped in Spotsylvania County and Michael Wayne Covington, 61, was charge with eluding, reckless driving, and obstruction of a law enforcement Officer. He was ordered held without bond and a court date of September 9, 2009 was set.

According to Sheriff Tony Lippa, Caroline Deputies made 7 drug arrests, 3 DUI arrests, 10 domestic violence arrests, 86 other criminal arrests and issued 3 animal control summons or arrests during the past week.  The deputies served 245 civil papers, issued 179 traffic summonses, handled 7 motor vehicle crashes, responded to 24 alarm calls, and dealt with 6 juvenile offenders.  The Sheriff’s Office Communications Center dispatched 473 calls for service and handled 1,801 telephone inquiries.  The CCSO also logged 43 calls assisting outside agencies and had 201 self-initiated calls
