Rapidan River
Runs from Blue Ridge Mountains and feeds into the Rappahannock. Public access for canoe launching at Eley’s Ford, off Elys Ford Road in Spotsylvania; and Germanna Ford, off Route 3. Smallmouth bass, bluegill and red-ear.

Lake Anna
Several marinas with boat ramps, rentals, bait, tackle; picnicking; camping; largemouth bass, bluegill, pumpkinseed, black crappie, walleye, striped bass, red-ear sunfish and channel catfish; 9,600 acres.

Rappahannock River
Runs from Blue Ridge Mountains to the Chesapeake Bay. Public access (with boat landings) in the Fredericksburg area includes Motts Landing, Fall Hill Avenue to River Road, approximately one mile on the right; and City Dock in Fredericksburg.

Potomac River
Offers superb angling opportunities. The tidal portion is an outstanding striper and croaker fishery, with the areas around Colonial Beach to Dahlgren popular with anglers. Farther upriver, there are hefty largemouth bass help make the Potomac a world-class destination.

Boat ramp, canoe, boat and motor rentals; picnicking; electric motors only; largemouth bass, bluegill, black crappie, white and yellow perch, channel catfish and northern pike; four fishing piers, including one that’s handicapped accessible.

Virginia Outdoor Center
Canoes, kayaks and tubes are available for rental, along with shuttle service to various points along the Rappahannock River. The Outdoor Center also offers guided fishing trips, scouting programs, a ropes course and climbing instruction.
