The University of Mary Washington Center for Economic Development will host a seminar on the first steps to starting a business from 9–11:30 a.m. March 18 at UMW’s Small Business Development Center, 1125 Jefferson Davis Highway in Fredericksburg.
Angela Kelley will discuss self-evaluation basics, including the business idea, defining the need for the business, determining its feasibility and what actions are needed to bring it into fruition. She’ll also cover analytical methods, research sources, business legal forms, record keeping, laws, regulations, and policies, as well as the value and importance of business plans and financial analysis.
