Smokey Bones

The Central Park location of Smokey Bones Bar & Fire Grill in Fredericksburg has closed.

The Smokey Bones Bar & Fire Grill restaurant at 1801 Carl D. Silver Parkway in Fredericksburg has closed.

An employee at the restaurant in Central Park confirmed the closure Tuesday, but forwarded all inquiries about why and when the closing happened to a statement to be released by the chain.

Ellen Hartman, who handles communications for the chain, released the following: “Smokey Bones is both disappointed and sad to announce the closing of our Fredericksburg restaurant. We appreciate the loyalty of our great guests over the past several years, and we hope to serve many familiar faces at our Woodbridge location at 2601 Prince William Parkway.”

The statement continued: “We also thank our amazing team members in Fredericksburg for their commitment to deliver great food and experiences, and we will work hard to place them in another restaurant. For a list of all 63 Smokey Bones locations, visit us at smokeybones.com.”

Hartman noted that the chain’s restaurants fit into a cycle in each location, affected by the shopping centers they are in and by new competition arising in each market.

Smokey Bones has been at the Fredericksburg location since 2005.
