PUBLIC HEARING
The Caroline County Planning Commission
will hold a public hearing on Thursday, October 24, 2019 at
7:00 p.m. in the Community Services Center Auditorium,
located at 17202 Richmond Turnpike, Milford, Virginia, to
consider the following requests:
SPEX-06-2019 – Oliff, James, Owner/Applicant – Request
a Special Exception Permit in accordance with Article XVII,
Section 13 (Standards for Special Use Permits) and Article
IV (Rural Preservation), Section 5.23 of the Caroline County
Zoning Ordinance on tax map #85-A-6 (part of) consisting of 3.1
acres, more or less. This property is located at 23134 Penola
Road, Ruther Glen, Mattaponi Voting District. Proposed
Use: Special Events Facility. The 2030 Comprehensive
Plan designates this area as Agricultural Preservation.
SPEX-05-2019 – Commonwealth Fairs & Events, Inc.,
Owner; T-Mobile Northeast, LLC, Applicant: Request
a Special Exception Permit in accordance with Article XVII,
Section 13 (Standards for Special Use Permits) and Article XI
(PUD), Division 6 Planned Recreation & Entertainment, Section
3.13 of the Caroline County Zoning Ordinance on tax map #100A-2 (part of) consisting of 1 acre, more or less. This property
is located at 14020 Dawn Boulevard, Doswell, Reedy Church
Voting District, Proposed Use: Communications Facility
(160’ tower & ground equipment) The 2030 Comprehensive
Plan designates this property as Rural Preservation.
RZ-03-2019 The Virginia Bazaar, Owner/Applicant:
Request a Rezoning from B-1 Business (no specified density)
to M-1 Industrial (no specified density) on tax map #53-A-64B
consisting of 97.25 acres, more or less. This property is located
at 18188, 18190 and 18191 Bazaar Avenue, Ruther Glen,
Mattaponi Voting District. Proposed Use: Industrial. The
2030 Comprehensive Plan designates this property as being
within the Ladysmith Community Plan as Regional Business.
Any persons desiring to be heard in favor of or in opposition
to the above are hereby invited to be present at the Public
Hearing. Copies of the above applications are on file in the
Department of Planning & Community Development, 233
West Broaddus Avenue, Bowling Green, Virginia 22427.
If weather or other conditions are such that it is determined
to be hazardous for people’s safety to attend the Planning
Commission meeting, the meeting shall be continued to the
following Thursday at the same time and place.
