Fredericksburg Elks Lodge Grant coordinators Georjean McDermott and Carol Baker, and Elk member Shelby Frantum purchased 39 warm winter coats with grant funds provided by the Elks national office. These coats were delivered by McDermott, Frantum, Baker, and the Virginia Elks State Vice President Ray Dameron and his wife, Elizabeth, to those students at Walker–Grant Middle School who were in need of a coat this winter.

The Fredericksburg Elks, in addition to more than 110 years of strong community support, also supports a wide range of local charities and veterans organizations, as well as provides annual scholarships to deserving high school seniors in our area.
