Two people were arrested early Wednesday in Stafford County following a pursuit during which a deputy's vehicle was struck, authorities said.
Stafford Sheriff's spokeswoman Amanda Vicinanzo said the incident began about 1:30 a.m. when a resident reported suspicious activity in the area of Jousting Court. Three people were seen peering into vehicles with flashlights and a car alarm was activated, Vicinanzo said.
Deputy James Wrights spotted a black sedan the suspects were seen getting into and learned that it had been stolen in Leesburg. When Wright tried to stop the car, the driver sped off.
Vicinanzo said that on Dent Road the vehicle struck a deputy's cruiser and continued onto Regents Lane. The suspect vehicle stopped there and the three occupants fled on foot.
After a short foot pursuit, Deputy Justin Forman apprehended the driver.
Chanise Stroble, 20, of Alexandria was charged with felony eluding, reckless driving, receiving stolen property, felony hit and run, possession of marijuana, obstructing justice and driving without a license. Stroble was placed in the Rappahannock Regional Jail under no bond.
First Sgt. Christopher Neuhard took a second suspect into custody. Sabrina Ali, 18, of Annandale was charged with possession of marijuana and obstruction of justice. She was jailed on a $2,500 bond.
The third person in the vehicle was not found, despite the use of drones and a police dog in the search.
Vicinanzo said no one was injured in the incident and deputies do not know of any items being stolen.
