Two people were killed in a crash near Lake Anna in Louisa County on Monday. At 6:45 p.m. Monday, the driver of a 2005 Ford Mustang lost control heading into a curve at the 2600 block of New Bridge Road, a mile east of Route 652 (Kentucky Springs Road).

The Mustang slid from the eastbound lane into oncoming traffic and was struck in the side by a 2004 Dodge 2500.

The Mustang’s driver, 21-year-old Larry A. Booth III, of Spotsylvania, died at the scene, as did his passenger, a 17-year-old male from Spotsylvania. Booth was not wearing a seat belt, but the juvenile was.

The driver of the Dodge, Michael L. Forbes, 31, of Mineral, sustained minor injuries in the crash He was not wearing a seat belt.

Virginia State Police is investigating the crash.
