Belva LaVerne Haley, "Tubby", 67, of Spotsylvania County passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, March 27, 2019. LaVerne was an active member of Bethel Christian Church. At the time of her death, she was the president of the Spotsylvania Volunteer Fire Department Co. 2 Auxiliary and had been active in this organization for 45 years. Survivors include her daughters, Donna Haley and Cindy Foster (Kevin); grandchildren Trey Ayers, whom she raised, Andrew Ayers, and Kyle and Cayla Foster; sisters Margaret Brooks, Annie Madison, Mary Almond, Sue Curtis (Junior), and Elaine Williams; brothers Herbert Williams, Wilbur (Mary), Bradley (Brenda), Charles Kenny (Kathy) and Boyd (Diane); and numerous nieces, nephew, friends and family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Andy and Lucy Williams; sisters Nell Taylor, and Clara Hancock; and brothers Carlin and Irvin Williams. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Hematology-Oncology Associates of Fredericksburg and special thanks to her "second family" the nurses, CNA's and staff of 4 North at Mary Washington Hospital. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 30 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. A service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 31 at the funeral home chapel.
