Marian G. Richardson, 96, of Fredericksburg and Titusville, Fla. passed away on Monday, March 11, 2019 in Fredericksburg after a short illness. Mrs. Richardson was born on October 18, 1922 in Fredericksburg to Henry Bernard Genther and Daisy Sullivan Genther; her family owned Genther's Greenhouse, a local florist and plant nursery. She graduated from James Monroe High School in 1940 and has been a lifelong member of Fredericksburg Baptist Church, where she was active in the choir, missions and Sunday school programs. She and the late John B. Richardson married in 1963 and both retired from the Kennedy Space Center. Mrs. Richardson was a NASA Technicolor photographic technician from the Apollo program through Skylab and the Space Shuttle Missions. Survivors include cousins Patricia M. Moncure, William S. Middleton, Jr. (Joan), Robert W. White (Darlene), Withers W. Moncure, Jr. (Vanessa), and Richard C.L. Moncure (Laura). Mrs. Richardson was preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is remembered by family and friends as kind, generous, and a gracious Southern lady. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 29 at Oak Hill Cemetery.
