Helen Bennie Crist Stewart, 98, passed away on March 29, 2019 at Dogwood Village Senior Living. She was born in Lahore, VA, on November 5, 1920 to Craig H. and Florence G. Crist. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William (Billy) G. Stewart, and brother, C.H. Crist, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Bina Fears and husband, Doug, of Madison; by her grandchildren, Courtney Johnson and husband, Evan of Richmond, VA; Kendall Fears of Madison, VA; and Whitney Milbourne and husband, Brandon, of Madison. She was a beloved "G" to her great-grandchildren, Blair and Conway Milbourne of Madison, and Paige Johnson of Richmond, VA. A graduate of Unionville High School, she attended Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, VA, and Stetson University in Deland, FL. She worked for many years in Orange at Kentucky Flooring, Ration Board, and Grymes Drug Store. She was a member of Rhoadesville Baptist Church, VFW Auxiliary, and the Daughters of the American Revolution. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 31, 2019, from 6-8 pm at Preddy Funeral Home in Madison, VA. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 1, 2019, at 11:00 am at Preddy Funeral Home in Madison, VA. Interment will follow at North Pamunkey Baptist Church in Orange, VA.
