The annual Caroline County spring festival known as Ladysmith Day has a new name—the Caroline Spring Festival.

A press release from the festival's new organizers, the Caroline County Agricultural Fair, announced the change Feb. 8.

Ladysmith Day started as a small community festival, but attendance has grown over the years. Last year, the organizers approached the county fair organizers to ask if they would take it over.

"They happily accepted and opted to change the name to encompass all of Caroline," the press release states.

The free family event, which will take place May 4 at the fairgrounds in Ruther Glen, includes pony rides, a petting zoo, face painting, bounce houses and crafts as well as food and retail vendors, representatives from community organizations and two free concerts by the Wylde Katz Band and the Real Deal Band.
