Chancellor Class of 2016: Jonathan Herrera Regalado

Jonathan Herrera Regalado

Name: Jonathan Herrera Regalado

Age: 19

Parents: David Herrera and Julia America Regalado

What is an example of something this student has done to show caring for others? Jonathan has helped more than 20 students become more acclimated with the school. He also has helped reach out to parents to attend parent-teacher conference nights which they had never done before. … Jonathan has a heart of a servant leader. He is an extremely intelligent, driven and caring student. His heart is about doing what’s right and making an impact in the lives of others for the better good. Jonathan’s character is thoughtful and authentic with a take-charge mentality. —Beth Clifton Crumpler, ESOL teacher

What makes you feel this student has influenced the school community? He created a club entitled “The Newcomers Club.” This club provides assistance to those students who are new to our school and perhaps our country and that may need assistance in understanding their school work or policies and procedures. He has contacted many students and adults to help provide tutorial services for our new students. He meets with parents during our parent teacher conferences to assist those parents who are not English speakers and to let them know what is going on within the school and the progress of their children. He has been such a wonderful asset to Chancellor High School. Jonathan will be truly missed.—Jacqueline Bass-Fortune, principal

Future plans: Because of financial need, I’m still trying to go to Germanna Community College for two years. Then, I will go to Liberty University to study graphic design. After I finish my career, I will start my own business online.

What is your life philosophy? “Life can be difficult, but everything can be achieved with effort, dedication and dependence only in God.”
