Oliver Kriska, a 2017 graduate of Chancellor High School, received the Anne E. Parker Memorial RCS Scholarship from the Rappahannock Choral Society at the group’s spring concert in May. The $500 scholarship is presented annually to a graduating Spotsylvania County senior who will continue their education in music or the performing arts.
An accomplished violinist, Kriska was the Concert Master of his high school’s symphonic orchestra for the past three years. He also played with the University of Mary Washington Philharmonic, the Rappahannock Youth Symphony and the Rappahannock POPS Orchestra, and was the Associate Concertmaster for the Spotsylvania High School All-County Orchestra and president of the Tri-M Music Honor Society.
Kriska will attend James Madison University.
