Harry Lewis won big during the Cash 5 lotto game.

Spotsylvania County resident Harry Lewis thought he blacked out.

That’s how he described his reaction to winning the Cash 5 lotto game’s $100,000 jackpot Aug. 10, according to a Virginia Lottery press release. He told his niece, but she didn’t buy it.

“She had to take the ticket out of my hand and look at it,” he said in the press release.

He bought the winning ticket at the Fas Mart on 8520 Jefferson Davis Highway next to Massaponax Baptist Church. A computer randomly picked his winning numbers: 12-14-24-30-33. The odds of winning the top prize are 1 in 278,256.

Spotsylvania County received nearly $9 million in lottery funds for K–12 public education last fiscal year.
