Joseph Brett Estes, 54, of Richmond, Virginia passed away at his home on Thursday, February 7, 2019. Brett was born on February 28, 1964 in Fredericksburg, Virginia. He is survived by his wife, Betty Neumann-Estes, his mother, Mary Bowling, his father Joseph Estes and step-mother Jennifer Estes; his brothers Chance Bowling, Charles Bowling and Scott Bowling; sisters Joanna Estes Janascius and Janel Estes Lewis; nephew Dallas Bowling, and step-son Benjamin Del Barrio. He was predeceased by his beloved step-father, Clarence Bowling. Brett graduated from Stafford High School in 1982, where he was active in football and track. He attended Randolph-Macon College where he developed life long friendships with many of his fraternity brothers. They were with him right up to the end, travelling to spend the last Superbowl with him three days before his passing; laughing and remembering all the many escapades they had gotten into throughout the years. In 1994 Brett moved to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, where he enjoyed a successful 22 year career with Vidanta Resorts, he was loved and respected by everyone who knew him and is remembered by his colleagues for his integrity and wisdom. Brett had a larger than life personality. He loved good food, live music and spending time with friends and family. He will be remembered by all for his generosity, candor, and humor. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, February 16th from 1:00 PM to 3:00 P.M. at the Bowling family property on Aquia Creek, 309 Thorny Point Road (at the end of Thorny Point Road) Stafford, Va. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude ChildrenĀ“s Hospital.
