Candace Howlin Kay, 28, wife, mother, and dear friend to all she knew, died on June 17, 2018 after an extended battle with cancer. Candace will be tenderly remembered by her husband, Lamar Kay; her son, Josiah Kay; and her step-son, Braylon Kay. Candace will also be lovingly remembered by her sister, Faith Bennett; her brother-in-law, LeAndre Bennett II; her grandparents, Charles and Gay Britt; and her many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Candace is preceded in death by her mother, Allison Britt and her father, George Howlin. Candace grew up in a loving family in Spotsylvania, Virginia and was a member of Goshen Baptist Church. She enjoyed participating in the church youth programs and Maranatha touring music ministry. Her family and friends will always remember her as a kind and joyous person, who always loved to laugh. She was a graduate of Courtland High School and earned her associate degree from Germanna Community College in 2012. She was a longtime employee of Walmart. When diagnosed with cancer in 2013, Candace remained positive, relying on her faith and her family throughout her illness. She remained a brave woman, dedicated wife and mother, throughout her final months. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Candace's life on Tuesday, June 26 at A. L. Bennett and Son Funeral Home, Inc. in Fredericksburg, Va. The viewing is at 11:00 a.m., with a memorial service to follow at 12:00 p.m. A reception will take place at Goshen Baptist Church in Spotsylvania, Va.
