Rhona Catherine McConkey, 39, of Fredericksburg passed away Monday, November 28, 2016 at Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center.
Rhona was a graduate of Chancellor High School and worked as a dental assistant. Rhona was loved by all who knew her. She will be remembered as an energetic, caring ray of light to all she encountered. More than anything, she will be remembered as a devoted mother who tirelessly advocated, supported and loved her daughter, Emilie. Rhona had a personality that drew all to her, a heart that cared for all, especially those in their darkest moments or who needed compassion the most. Her sense of humor and silliness was contagious, her smile heartwarming and her vivid blue eyes danced. She will be desperately missed by all who loved her.
Survivors include her daughter, Emilie Drugatz; mother Cheryl McConkey; father Kenneth McConkey (Sharon); sisters Tracy Tate (Dana) and Kelly Fairfield (Jason); brother Blaine McConkey (April); nieces Halie, Caitlyn and Olivia; and nephews Collin, Chase and Ayden; aunts Elise Ford (Clinton) and Patricia Gregory; uncle Quinton Gregory; cousins Erica Weart (Mike), Brandon Ford, Quinton Gregory III, and Sherri Burgess.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, December 3, at Covenant Funeral Service Fredericksburg. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home chapel.
