Virginia D. Taylor, 70, of Hartwood passed away Monday, January 30, 2017 at Mary Washington Hospital.
Mrs. Taylor was the daughter of the late Robert and Helen Dye. She was a 1965 graduate of Stafford High School and a graduate of Mary Washington School of Practical Nursing. She worked at Mary Washington Hospital for 19 years and later retired from Cardiology Associates of Fredericksburg after 29 years of service. Mrs. Taylor was a member of Richland Baptist Church where she was a former deaconess.
Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Carroll “Sandy” Taylor III; children Leslie Dean Taylor (Christine) of Fredericksburg, USMC Gunnery Sgt. Robert C. Taylor (Caryl) of Norfolk and Edith Taylor Yonts (Philip) of Fredericksburg; five grandchildren Peyton, Taylor, Lucy, Alex and Adrian; sister Patricia Buck (John) of Dayton, Ohio; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins; her beloved dog, Corky; and special friends Sissy Major, Linda Fines, Rose Rinker and Audrey Quinn.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 1 at Covenant Funeral Service Fredericksburg.
A service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 2 at Richland Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
