Fred Ernest Wilfong, 79, of King George, VA., died Wednesday, January 16, 2019 in Virginia. He was born October 9, 1939, in Barberton, Ohio to Fred Ernest and Lula Pauline (Richards) Wilfong and graduated from Coventry High School in 1959. Fred was a member and Master Mason of Victory Lodge #649 F& AM, Akron, Ohio; member and past Worthy Patron of former Wakefield Chapter #77 in the Order of the Eastern Star, Colonial Beach, Virginia. As a young man he was instrumental in starting the Greater Akron Soccer League Association for the youth to keep active then the organization grew to encourage the mature folks to also stay active – above all – have fun at it.
Preceding in death are his son, Lauren A. “Chip” Wilfong (age 36), sister, Kay Louise Miller (age 67). Surviving are his daughter Laura A. “Lou” Foster of Virginia, grandson Michael L. Foster of Kentucky, nephew Donald Miller Jr., niece Jodi Dillard (Miller), one great-niece, and one great-nephew.
