Government needs to establish rules for gene editing

Regarding the newspaper article on Jan. 28 on gene-editing kits [“New kits put gene editing in citizens hands”]: Even if it is a green tree frog, it is a living, breathing animal. Once the person gets tired of torturing the frog, they will go to a higher life forms and get creative.

I’m all for scientists improving life, but not the average everyday person. Even with checks and balances, I can see this getting out of control. People will act as God and think they have the right to do whatever they please.

As to schools dissecting frogs, they were dead when it happened. The government had better get their act together and lay down some rules before this gets out of control.
