Officials’ past behavior is highly relevant today

In response to JoAnne Alexander’s March 6 letter [“Officials’ past behavior is not relevant”], so politicians’ past deeds and acts aren’t relevant now?

I don’t care if it was 1950; it was still wrong to wear blackface or a KKK hood. And it sure as heck was not OK in the ‘70s or ‘80s. If it was racist then, then it’s racist now, be it a Democrat or a Republican.

I just don’t understand how anyone can think that these acts of racism can be overlooked or brushed under the rug. But then again, we are talking about Democrats. Racist is as racist does.

As for me, the grandson of Holocaust survivors, I’ll never vote for a racist, so I’ll never vote for a Democrat.
