Thanks to local businesses, seed swap was a success

The Master Gardener Association of the Central Rappahannock Area (MGACRA) hosted a successful National Seed Swap event on Jan. 26, 2019. The members give hearty thanks to the local businesses that supported us by donating garden tools and items for our raffle: Roxbury Mills Farm and Garden Center, Plow & Hearth, Lowe’s, Katora Coffee and the Fawn Lake Garden and Home Club.

Garden tools and garden-themed decorative items were enthusiastically bid upon and taken home by the winners. In addition, fresh coffee was donated by Katora Coffee, McDonald’s, Agora Downtown Coffee Shop and Virginia Commonwealth Roasters.

Photos of this year’s seed swap can be seen on our website: mgacra.org.

We will hold a National Seed Swap event in late January 2020 at the Rowser Building, 1739 Jefferson Davis Highway, in Stafford. Please check our website later this year for the exact date and information on seed swapping, speakers and educational activities for all ages. We encourage everyone to put National Seed Swap Day on their calendars!
