The Virginia football team is coming off its first eight-win season since 2011 and a dominant performance in the Belk Bowl against South Carolina. Add to that the Cavaliers’ highest-rated recruiting class since 2014 and it’s easy to see how expectations in Charlottesville are at a level unmatched by any UVa football team in the past decade.

Virginia’s Jordan Scott didn’t react Saturday when the announcer at Lannigan Field proclaimed that with three jumps left, he had already set the ACC track & field championships and venue records in the triple jump.

Virginia coach Michele Madison announced Cato Geusgens (Wassenaar, Netherlands), Danielle Husar (Mississauga, Canada), Adele Iacobucci (Malvern, Penn.), Laura Janssen (Nijmegen, Netherlands), Olivia Marrus (Houston, Texas) and Abbigail Starnes (Chesapeake, Va.) will join the Cavaliers for the 2019 season.
