North Stafford graduate Nana Asiedu’s Penn State football career is over before it even started.

Asiedu tweeted Wednesday evening that he’s been diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, a heart condition that will render him unable to play football moving forward.

Asiedu wrote that he’ll remain on full scholarship at Penn State, thanking Nittany Lions coach James Franklin and pledging to remain “a part of the team in every aspect.”

Asiedu, a second-team Free Lance-Star All-Area selection as a senior, was regarded as one of the country’s top recruits for the class of 2018. In April, he chose Penn State from a laundry list of FBS suitors.
