Fredericksburg Christian School’s Andrew Turbyfill won the boys title in the 200 individual medley at the 15-team VISAA Division II Invitational swimming meet Saturday at the Freedom Aquatic Center in Manassas.

Turbyfill beat the field in the boys final with a time of 2 minutes, 3.27 seconds. Fredericksburg Academy’s Reid Schattgen (2:04.34) finished just behind in second place. Schattgen also took second place in the boys 100 butterfly (55.81)

The Falcons’ Annika Luce took third place in the 100 breaststroke (1:12.59).

Up next will be the VISAA state swimming and diving championships, being held this year at the Rouse Center in Stafford on Feb. 15-16.

SWIMMING

COURTLAND VS. KING GEORGE

Jeannie Graham, Jackson Lusk and Alex Poley each won two individual events as the Foxes swim team swept a Battlefield District meet with the Cougars.

Lusk won the 50 and 200 freestyles and Poley took first place in the 100 butterfly and the 200 individual medley as King George just did nip Courtland 87.5–82.5. Cayden Moore (100 free), Luke Herring (100 back) and Tyler Moore (100 breast) won individual events and participated in the first-place 400 free relay effort for the Cougars.

Graham triumphed in the 50 freestyle and 100 butterfly as the Foxes won 97–73. Caroline Storen (200 free and 500 free) and Tessa Campbell (200 IM and 100 breaststroke) won two individual events each for the Cougars.
