Cameron Walker’s goal 27 seconds into overtime lifted the University of Mary Washington men’s lacrosse team to a 12–11 victory Saturday over visiting Catholic University at the campus’ Battleground Athletic Complex.
Knotted up at 11-all in the extra frame, the Eagles were granted an extra-man advantage and Shane McKenzie, who had six assists on the day, fed one to Walker for the game-winner.
Cole Hogan and Josh Schulman had the hat tricks with three goals each. Billy Senicola had 17 saves in goal.
The Eagles (4–3) host Illinois Wesleyan University on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
Julia Alpert had seven goals and five assists as the second-ranked Eagles easily routed host Messiah, 21–9.
Kennedy King added three goals while Hannah Ashby had seven saves in goal for the Eagles (5–1), who host Kean on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
The Eagles’ scheduled doubleheader with Messiah was cancelled.
