You’ll have the chance to chat with—or at least ask questions and get responses from—legendary comedian and actress Carol Burnett when she visits Richmond’s Altria Theater this summer.

The 7:30 p.m. event on Saturday, July 20, is called “An Evening of Laughter and Reflection.” Burnett will show video clips from her shows and take questions from the audience in a format reminiscent of the opening of “The Carol Burnett Show.”

“I love the spontaneity of these evenings,” Burnett said in a news release announcing the event. “I never know what anyone is going to ask, or say, or do, so it keeps me on my toes!”

Burnett, who turned 86 on Friday, is best known for her eponymous variety show, which ran on CBS from 1967 to 1978 and received 25 Emmy Awards.

Tickets go on sale to the public on Friday at 10 a.m. at the Altria Theater box office. They can also be purchased online at or by phone at (800) 514-ETIX.
